Ways to Give

Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA helps to support nearly 90,000 SVdP volunteers in communities across the country.

Vincentians bring critical assistance to millions of people living in poverty — preventing homelessness by offering assistance with rent and utilities, delivering food and clothing, connecting homeless people with housing, providing access to low-cost and free medical care, and more. No work of charity is foreign to the Society.

There are many ways to contribute to SVdP’s work. The following options provide additional information as you consider which giving opportunity might be appropriate for you. If you have any questions about how to make a gift, please contact Alyssa Bergman, Director of National Fundraising Programs at (314) 576-3993 Ext. 218 or abergman@svdpusa.org.

We are grateful for your generosity!

Charitable Gift Annuities

Charitable gift annuities (CGA) are a meaningful way to produce immediate tax benefits, a life-long income stream for you and a loved one, and a future and lasting philanthropic impact at the SVdP National Foundation for generations to come.

Stock Donations

Gifts of appreciated stock and mutual funds that have been held for more than a year can be a tax-smart way of supporting SVdP USA’s mission.. You can reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes when transferred as a gift to SVdP, helping us bring Christ’s presence, dignity, assistance, and hope to our neighbors in need.

Donor Advised Funds

DAFs are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to “grow” resources earmarked for future charitable giving. Simple and convenient, your DAF can make a significant impact in the lives of our neighbors in need.

Planned Giving

What will your legacy of faith be? Prayerfully consider the impact you can make by remembering SVdP USA in your will or trust, and/or by including us as a beneficiary of an IRA, retirement plan, financial account, life insurance policy, etc.

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are at least 70½ years old, you can make tax-free gifts up to $105,000 per calendar year directly from your IRA to SVdP USA. With no income tax  due on such a gift, this popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, or a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

Friends of the Poor Walk

Since its beginnings in 2008, the annual Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run program has provided local St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and Councils with funds to support special projects and help neighbors in need.

Donate a Car

Your vehicle donation to SVdP USA helps Vincentian volunteers provide developmental programs, food, water, and shelter to neighbors in need across the country. Make a difference today!
