Lord Jesus standing before me
In poverty and deprivation
With hands outstretched
To offer and to receive

Stretch out my hands to You
To join in Your poverty
To give for love alone
Receiving Your grace in humility

O Lord, I long to see Your face!
Greet me in Your doorway,
Greet me on the street,
Greet me in the face and heart
Of everyone I meet.
Greet me with Your poverty,
Your sadness, or Your fear.
I’ll see Your face at last, O Lord,
And know that You are here.
