For the gifts You have given me

Given to be shared

Pray for us, St Vincent de Paul
That we may love God as You did
With the strength of our arms
And the sweat of our brows
Never hesitating to do the hard work

Pray for us, St Vincent de Paul
That we may always be gentle
With the neighbors we serve
Offering our smiles and good cheer
For in them we see and serve Christ

Pray for us, St Vincent de Paul
Amen

Wednesday, September 28

Lord Jesus, lead me
Away from worldly distractions
That tug at my sleeve
Or stand in my way,
Diverting my attention
From the kingdom.
Lead me, Lord Jesus,
I seek to follow.
Amen

Thursday, September 29

Lord, in Your name
I will seek out and find
The poor and the suffering
Lord, for Your sake
I will give my time, my talents,
My possessions, and myself
Lord, by Your grace
I will be a humble servant
And cheerful giver
Lord, with Your love
I will be filled
Even as I share it

Thank You, Lord,
For all that I am,
For the gifts I do not deserve,

By Your grace may my words
Always deserve complete trust.

Wednesday, August 31

Lord, grant me the virtue of humility
Grant me the knowledge of the truth
That all that I have and all that I am
Is from You, through me, and for others.
By Your grace,
Use me to serve Your people
For Your glory and Your sake.

Lord, grant me the virtue of gentleness,
A kindness that shines through my smile,
A patience that waits in silence
Good cheer that warms the heart
Of the suffering neighbor

May my body be a temple
Of the Holy Spirit.
I am yours in body and spirit, Lord,
Make of me what You will.

Lord help me to serve
In humility and selflessness
So that through my wordless witness
You may gather Your children
As one in Your love
Amen

Lord God Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
And all who dwell here,
Hear my prayer,
Walk beside me,

Holy Spirit Prayer for the SVdP National Presidential Election 549 626 SVDP USA

L: In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

All: Amen.

L: Come, Holy Spirit, live within our lives.

All: And strengthen us by Your Love.

L: Send forth your spirit and new life will be created.

All: And the whole face of the earth will be renewed.

L: Holy Spirit, we ask you to guide us in our discernment for the selection of a new National President for the society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States. In your grace, lead us to choose the one who will be a servant leader in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul and Blessed Frederic Ozanam.

And so we pray: (Alternate sides)

Come, Holy Spirit,
Open our eyes to see your will,
Open our ears to hear the cries of the poor,
Open our hearts to listen to each other.

Spirit of creativity and understanding,
Bless us with insight and knowledge,
so that listening and deliberating together,
we may determine our future in wisdom.

Spirit of light and truth,
Replace the stress within us with a holy peace.
Replace the fear within us with a quiet assurance.
Replace the uncertainty within us with a gentle clarity.

Spirit of clarity and authenticity,
Give us the insight to ask perceptive questions,
so that praying and searching together,
we may discern the best person as our National President.

Come Holy Spirit, Come. Amen

Help me to act with mercy, Lord,
To see You in the suffering
Of the least of us
To offer my presence
In Your name
To give with love
For the love of God
To always serve in hope
Amen

Wednesday, April 27:

Lord let me serve You humbly,
Nameless, and small,
But doing Your works in the light
For Your glory, not mine
Drawing all people to Your light
To Your works
And to Your love
Amen

Thursday, April 28:

Lord, grant me the virtue of gentleness:
A kindness that never tires,
A patience that never wears thin,
Good will that is offered to all.
May my gentleness be visible
In my smile,
In my words,
And in my actions.

Lord, fill me with Your love

Lord, hear my prayer.
As one voice of many,
Lord, hear my prayer.
To seek out the lonely,
Lord, see my prayer.
To care for the neighbor,
Lord, see my prayer.
For Your love alone,
Lord, be my prayer.
Amen

Wednesday, April 6:

Lead me, Lord Jesus,
When I lose my way.
Lead me to serve in hope.
Free me, Lord Jesus,
From the shackles of sin.
Free me to live in Your word.
Amen

Thursday, April 7:

Lord, help me to be gentle,
To offer words of comfort,
To always act with mercy
Especially to people
That I feel do not deserve it.
Make me Your gentle instrument, Lord,
Not because I deserve it,
But to do Your work through me.
Amen

Friday, April 8:

I saw You today at the grocery store
Adding up prices with care
Unsure if you had enough for the week
I didn’t expect You there
I almost walked past You this morning
Have You done something new with Your hair?
You were sitting alone on a park bench
And I didn’t expect You there
I heard You at Mass this morning
Along with everyone there
Crying so loud in the back of the Church
And I didn’t expect You there
I pray to You, Christ, to forgive me
For passing You by unaware
Help me to always expect You
As You have expected my prayer
